I'm going to stay true to my word and keep this post nice and (relatively) short!
If there's something I've been noticing so far about having started the process of transitioning, that is, being in the coming-out stage, is that it's a relief when you tell someone you hold dear and they accept the news. It's also an amazing feeling to be able to dress the way I feel I should, while having someone around to actually see me dressed that way, and treat me just like they would before, but that's a different story.
I told my best friend about my decision to head down the road of changing my gender. I took the coward's road: telling him over MSN, but I think that's better since it gives both parties time to think between responses. He was somewhat speechless at first, but told me that he would support me as much as he could through my entire process. He asked the usual questions, and I had answers for all of them. I even wrote up a schedule detailing, in 3 month steps, what I plan on doing and what changes he will start to see. Of course, that's only approximate since I have no idea when everything will actually start up, but hey, details!
Now all that's left is to explain this to my room-mate. I can't hide behind MSN with this one, he lives with me after all. I just think he should know now, even though I'm still a while away from actually starting treatment. I don't want him to see skirts and nylons and who knows what other girly items hanging from my clothes rack without knowing why they're there :P
