So you ordered them? Nice.

The boots, well for fabric I'm not really sure. You could ask over on cosplay.com or hope some one actually looks at these forums besides us ad says something. Perhaps a pleather for the thigh highs? At first I thought it was just a leggings, but the one picture shows around back of the leg with straps. So I'm wondering if it's kinda like cowboy chaps idea (just a different material)

Ordered? no, walked into the store, saw a pair in the right size grabbed them, paid for them and left.

well, the design is a sort of thigh high back corset laced back boot with buckles of some kind at the top, the straps on the one leg are for that white box which is a thigh mounted pistol holster.

I might consider using real leather if I can find enough of the right kind for cheap enough, but i'll have to wait and see on that, the prototyping phase I will probably just do with a moderately heavy fabric to get the pattern perfected.

Pleather might work though, I admittedly don't know much about it though, what kinds are their?
I think something that has a stretch property to it might work best but i'm not sure.

Please feel free to tell me whatever you know about pleather....

Good choice on going with a shoe and building a boot cover. It'll look so much better than anything commercially available in thigh high boots. I would suggest pleather or PVC. It usually comes in either non-stretch, 2-way stretch, and 4-way stretch. 4-way stretch (stretched on both the x-axis and y-axis of the fabric) is what I would suggest but can be hard to find in anything other than black. Other downsides is that the 4-way can be tricky to sew with all that stretch but it'll be easier to move in. 2-way stretch (only stretches on one axis) would be your next best option. Put the stretch in the direction parallel to your leg so it stretches from toe to thigh as you walk otherwise every time you move, it will want to slide down your leg. If your in an actual store, try to find one with 100% stretch i.e. 3 inches of fabric can stretch to 6 inches. Less that 50% stretch would be unadvised as would non-stretch anything.

Pleather can have numerous types of finishes from shiny to matte, to embossed, to printed, etc. PVC comes in usually just matte, patten (shiny), with some metallic variants. Finish is up to you but I would go more towards matte/semi-matte as shiny fabrics tend to highlight imperfections in the fit and sewing.

Other fabric options are stretch cotton such as a stretch twill, spandex/lycra knit (tends to be see through in white unless you can find the thicker weight), or latex (almost a non-fabric option as you're learn how to pattern things differently and uses solvent glued seams rather than thread-sewn ones).

Thanks For the Info.

I am currently working on sketches of how I want things to look for this costume.
(its going slow, but i am at least making progress)

Remember this is like a fan made concept art costume of what Kos-Mos might have looked like in Version 5.

as soon as I have any sketches ready I'll post some scans for outside constructive criticism.

One Thing I can mention at the moment is I am thinking of using the Kos-Mos V3 Color Scheme with some elements of V2 & V4 mixed in, not sure on that yet or how i would do it, but thats the kind of thing that can keep it interesting. ^_^

so am i ^_^

I am doing them in layered tracing paper sheets so that I can "Construct" more than one look if I want and play around with different ideas.
(like Tony stark did in the 1st ironman movie for prototype 1)
